How do I browse for clips?Search for clips by browsing through Clip Syndicate's featured channels. Click on any of the thumbnails on the home page to find clips. |
How do I search for clips?Input keywords into the search box to see a result set of video content. Don't like the result set? Click on refine search or go directly to advanced search. |
How do I perform an Advanced Search?Refine search by defining keyword inputs or using Boolean search technique:
ClipTip: ClipSyndicate has a deep database of local news content from broadcasters throughout the U.S., searching for specific content providers can be accomplished by including or excluding sources. |
How to publish a clip:Once you have found your clip, click on publish this clip and you will be taken to the publish page. You will see a drop down menu to select "My First Channel." The clip will be added to your first channel. You may add more clips to your channel or copy code to publish your clip to your site. Click "Get Code" and a screen will offer several integration methods: Link- copying the link code will integrate a simple html link to your channel. A user clicking on the link will pop up the ClipSyndicate player and play your clip.HTML- copying the html code will integrate one thumbnail image, the title and description of your channel. Note: if you have more than one clip in your channel, you can select which thumbnail to display on your site.JavaScript- copying the JavaScript code will integrate your channel and display as many thumbnails as you choose on your site. Also, a JavaScript integration will automatically update your channel as you add clips to it (without having to re-copy code into your site.) ClipTip: some blog sites do not support JavaScript well.RSS- copying the RSS code into your site will publish your channel and automatically update it when you add clips. |

What is a Channel?A channel is a collection of clips (one or more) organized into a playlist called a channel. You can create as many channels as you choose for as many different topics as you choose to integrate onto your site. |
What is a Smart Channel?A smart channel is a "saved search" that automatically updates your channel's playlist as new clips become available that meet your search criteria. |
What is a Featured Channel?A featured channel is channel of pre-edited content created by ClipSyndicate and our content partners. |
How do I create/delete Channels?There are two ways to create channels.
ClipTip: by deleting a channel you will remove it from any web site on which it is published. |
How do I add a clip to a channel?

How do I remove a clip from a channel?Go to My Channels to select your channel and the clip you want to delete. Then click on the delete link next to the clip to be deleted. |
How do I remove a channel from a web site?Go to My Channels. Select the channel then click on the delete link at the top of the page. |
How do I create a Smart Channel?Input your search parameters to the search box and click the search button. Click on the "Save this search as a smart channel" link. Give your Smart Channel a name and assign it to a web site. Next publish the channel to your site. |

What content providers are available?ClipSyndicate has a broad selection of content from local and national broadcasters throughout the U.S. as well rich evergreen content including, comedy, how-to, and health topics. Go to advanced search and click on sources to see all of our providers. |
Why am I not allowed to publish certain clips?If you receive a message that you are not allowed to publish a specific clip it means that the content owner has not permitted you to publish their content on your site. |
Does content expire?Yes, some content will expire. Average expiration is between 30 and 90 days. Updating your site frequently with fresh, relevant clips will provide the best experience for your users. |
How can I acess my reports?You can access your reports by clicking on "My Account" and then clicking on "Reports."

How do I get paid?ClipSyndicate's revenue payment program will be initiated soon. Affiliates will receive communication at that time about program specifics and instructions for payment. |

What is HTML?HTML stands for "HyperText Markup Language" and is a static integration of a clip's thumbnail, title and description. You will have to copy and paste code each time you update your site with html. |
What is JavaScript?JavaScript is a scripting language that when embedded into html pages adds functionality to a site. ClipSyndicate's JavaScript publishing integration allows users to embed channels into their pages and easily update them by simply adding clips to their channels without having to copy and paste code each time. Please note that JavaScript may not be compatible with certain blog sites. |
What is RSS?RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and is an XML-based program that allows users to subscribe to their favorite websites. An RSS reader can check the list of feeds on behalf of a user and display updated articles or files. ClipSyndicate allows you to implement RSS integrations of your channels. Thus if your users embed your RSS feed into a reader, they will be notified each time you update your channel - a really simple way to generate traffic! |
